Employee Scheduling Feature
Overview
The Employee Scheduling feature allows the input of the employee schedule directly into Restaurant Master. This removes the need for using third party applications or Microsoft’s Excel. This feature also allows the enforcement of the schedule to prevent employees from timing early for their shifts or from their breaks.
Using the Employee Scheduling feature helps managers bring their labor costs under control.
Configuring the Schedule feature
Select Employee Scheduling from System Manager
The screen will load and will be blank except for the current date range (see Fig. 2)
Click on the Settings tab (see Fig. 1)

Make sure that Use Scheduling is checked
Once the initial schedule has been created check Enforce Schedule
• Under the Enforcement section set the parameters for the amount of time before and after their shift start time they can time in without a manager
• Leave the Time Out Window set to 0 if you do not want to enforcement to occur when an employee times out
• Set the Break Length to the desired amount of time typically 30 minutes
• Set the Break in Window parameters. (usually 1 minute before and 5 minutes after)
Disregard the sections marked Store Hours and Positions. These are for future enhancements to the feature.
Creating a Schedule
Select Employee Scheduling from System Manager.
The screen will load and will be blank except for the current date range (see Fig. 1)

If this is the desired date range choose the position from the drop down menu (see Fig. 3)

Once a position is selected you will be able to enter the start and end times for each employee (see Fig. 4)
To set the schedule for an employee locate the employee and click the box that corresponds to the date you wish to enter the shift information.
On the left side of the screen click on the box marked Shift From and enter the desired time in military time (Example: 4 PM is entered as 16.00)
Clicking the Tab key on the keyboard will move to the Shift To box. Enter the desired end time for the employee’s shift. (NOTE: You must enter an end time for all shifts)
Continue in this fashion until your schedule is completed for all positions.
Clicking the Accept button will save the schedule. It is advised to click this button often during the creation and editing of the schedule.

Copying a Schedule
The Employee Scheduling feature allows schedules to be created or copied up to four weeks in advance.
To copy a schedule click the Copy Schedule button located on the Schedule tab.
Select the start date of the schedule you wish to copy (Always select the start day of the week, usually Monday)
Select the start date of the week that you wish to copy the schedule to (again selecting the start day of the week)
Click Accept to save the schedule
Editing a Schedule
To edit a schedule click the Create/Edit Schedule button located on the Schedule tab.
Select the start date of the schedule you wish to edit (Always select the start day of the week, usually Monday)
Edit the schedule as necessary
Click Accept to save the schedule
